CANCELED – First Nepalese Solidarity Cup 2020

Over just the two weeks the number of COVID-19 cases have gone from an average of 2k and more than 5k in state of TX. So after careful consultation with our member, our medical advisory team and community’s leaders regarding the health and safety of everyone of us – we have made the difficult decision to CANCEL 1st Nepalese Solidarity Cup 2020, scheduled for July 11 and 12 in Dallas ,TX.

Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for all these great teams from local and out of states areas and our supporters. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.
 
We apologize with all the registered teams for any inconvenience this might going to cause.
 
Our team will be reaching out directly to all the registered teams with information about full refunds process.
 
On the good note, we will be hosting same Tournament (1st Nepalese Solidarity Cup -2021) in bigger way next summer.
 
Upcoming next is 5v5 – 9th Annual Dashain Cup -2020 this Fall.

Nepalese Solidarity Cup is 11v11 soccer tournament established by Dallas Gurkhas FC in the year 2020. This event’s envisioned to provide a platform for Nepalese based soccer teams in US to showcase their skills, sportsmanship as well as unite Nepalese community while sharing the brotherhood via the beautiful game of soccer. This event will be held in annual basis during the
July 4th weekend.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic we are unable to invite many soccer teams around the States this year, however, our aim is to construct a competitive and finely organized annual soccer event for the most spirited and disciplined Nepalese based soccer teams inside US in coming years.

This year Nepalese Solidarity Cup will be held from July 11th & 12th, 2020 in Dallas, Texas, in loving memory of Late Sunil Shrestha. 100% of the profit from the event will goes to BlinkNow
Foundation in order to assist the fight against Covid-19 in Nepal. There will be total Cash Prize of $4000 plus trophies and certificates for finalist teams. Online Registration is open from June 20th – July 4th (midnight) with registration fee of $500/team.
